Cardamone ~ since 1961
In 1961 Orlando and Rosa Cardamone opened their supermarket
in Fairfield, forty seven years later it is still a family run business where the tradition and passion for food continues.
The main delights are found in the deli section, where many
of
the antipasti and meats are made on the premises. Known for Marisa’s famous Crunchy Parmesan dressing (featured as a ‘hidden treasure’ in The Age), the kitchen produces a range of seasonal preserves, biscuits and daily breads and has sixteen fridges of
local and imported cheeses. The deli also features the famous
San
Nicola Prosciutto known internationally.
Cardamone imports Italian and other European cuisine, with
a large range of olive oil, pasta, marinated and cured Mediterranean delicacies, Pannettone, Colomba and fine chocolates. For further convenience the store has a fresh fruit and vegetable department that accepts daily deliveries of seasonal Australian produce.
The family is also deeply committed to fundraising for the
Golden Age community in Uganda and welcomes any donations
or support people can offer this charity. They hold in store functions and raffles to raise funds for these children, many
of which are
Aids orphans. |
